At Rockbrook Camp, arts and crafts are more than just activities – they’re a way of life.
Our program offers a wide range of creative pursuits, from traditional techniques like pottery and weaving to modern favorites like jewelry making and tie-dying. When girls come to Rockbrook, they step into a world filled with color, texture, and endless creative possibilities.
Experienced instructors guide campers through a variety of projects. In our pottery studios, for example, girls shape clay into colorful bowls, cups and sculptures. In the jewelry-making activity, string, beads and wire become unique bracelets and necklaces. Floor looms click rhythmically as campers explore the art of weaving, while paintbrushes bring paper and canvases to life with color and pattern. Each activity introduces essential techniques while encouraging campers to embrace the creative process.
These craft activities do more than just produce beautiful objects – they build confidence, foster friendships, and uncover hidden talents. In the woodworking shop, for example, girls experience the satisfaction of creating with their hands. Needlecraft sessions on the porch of the historic “Curosty” cabin offer a peaceful setting for conversation and imagination. The popular Hodge Podge activity showcases the joy of creative experimentation, with projects ranging from tie-dye to pillow-making.
All around Rockbrook, craft spaces buzz with activity and laughter. Campers work side by side, sharing ideas and encouragement. As they explore their creativity, they also develop valuable life skills like patience, perseverance, and problem-solving.
At Rockbrook, every craft project becomes a cherished memory and a lovely reminder of summer friendships. Here, creativity and community blend seamlessly, creating an experience that lasts long after the final beads are strung and the last brush stroke is made.
